Registered Nurse (RN)

• Description The Behavioral Health Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing services to individuals receiving treatment for mental health and substance use disorders.
• This position works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team to support patient recovery, wellness, and overall health through assessment, education, care planning, group facilitation, and direct patient care.
• The Behavioral Health Nurse will: Facilitate nursing groups and individual educational sessions focused on substance use recovery, mental health, medication education, health promotion, and wellness.
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments to identify physical, behavioral, and psychosocial needs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs and treatment goals.
• Provide education regarding substance use disorders, mental health conditions, medications, relapse prevention, lifestyle modifications, and self-care practices.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, counselors, case managers, peer supporters, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate significant findings to the treatment team.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
• Promote a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-oriented environment that emphasizes dignity, respect, empathy, and patient-centered care.
• Implement nursing interventions consistent with evidence-based behavioral health and addiction treatment practices.
• Assist in identifying and responding to medical and behavioral health concerns that may arise during treatment.
• Participate in quality improvement activities, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.
• Comply with all applicable federal, state, accreditation, ethical, and organizational standards and requirements.

Requirements

Required Qualifications Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio. Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills. Knowledge of behavioral health, mental health, and substance use disorder treatment principles. Experience developing and implementing nursing care plans. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable regulations and standards. Ability to work onsite at designated treatment locations.
