Implement tailored occupational therapy care plans and provide treatment to clients under the direction of an occupational therapist. Maintain accurate daily documentation and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to modify care as needed.
Must hold a valid Occupational Therapist Assistant licensure in the state of Michigan. CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required, though these are provided by the employer.
Model appropriate behavior conducive to a positive working and therapeutic environment. Provide care to clients under the direction of the occupational therapist by implementing the plan of care, obtaining data related to the treatment provided, and collaborating with the occupational therapist to modify care as needed. Document daily notes and service billings in a timely fashion and in accordance with procedure to provide complete documentation for client charts. Proactively initiate and follow-through with tasks utilizing appropriate problem-solving techniques to facilitate communication flow and prompt resolutions. Maintain caseload levels at a level deemed reasonable by the OT supervisor. Observe all rules of confidentiality as they pertain to program participants internally, and in working with outside individuals and/or agencies. Provide caseload coverage for OT services. Other duties as assigned by the OT Supervisor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to palpate, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop kneel or crawl. Accommodated alternatives are acceptable if they accomplish the necessary essential tasks. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to assist in transfers, gait, and mobility training.
