Responsibilities

• Provide coordinated perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgery, following established standards of care and the nursing process.
• Prepare and maintain a safe operating room environment, including sterile technique and equipment readiness.
• Monitor patient status pre-, intra-, and post-operatively; support anesthesia team and surgical team throughout procedures.
• Administer medications and manage solutions, labeling, and documentation per protocol.
• Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff in the OR and coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other modalities.
• Use critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to ensure patient safety and quality of care; document accurately in the patient record.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in California (or eligible per state requirements)
• Perioperative/OR nursing experience
• Ability to work 10-hour shifts in a fast-paced OR environment and travel assignment logistics
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Demonstrated clinical judgment and adherence to standards of care and patient safety
