Assists physicians and the medical center in the record completion process to ensure compliance with licensing and regulatory agencies. Coordinates the release of information requests for internal and external customers while maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and 2-3 years of health information management experience in an acute care facility. Candidates must possess strong medical-legal knowledge, proficiency in hospital computer systems, and medical terminology training.
Join one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic medical centers, UChicago Medicine, as a Medical Records Technician III in the Health Information Management department. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.
Under minimal direction, assists the physicians and medical center in the record completion processes to ensure compliance with licensing, regulatory and accrediting agencies. Performs and coordinates release of information processes internal and external to the HIM Department and Medical Center.
In this role, we anticipate that you will generally work approximately 40 hours per week. We anticipate that you will generally be scheduled to work the first shift, from approximately 8am-4:30pm and will not be scheduled for on-call shifts. We anticipate you will be scheduled to work 100% at the Hyde Park campus. We anticipate that you will be scheduled to work on weekdays (Monday-Friday).

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
