Responsible for managing instruments, supplies, and equipment during obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery unit. The role involves anticipating the surgeon's needs and maintaining a sterile field to ensure quality patient care.
Requires a high school diploma and graduation from a Surgical Technologist program, or equivalent clinical experience. BCLS certification is required upon hire, and NRP certification is preferred.
Overview Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

Education H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required Work Experience Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program Required or 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist Required or 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting Required Licenses and Certifications BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Preferred Business
