How you’ll make an impact in this role Surgical Preparation

• Ready the operating suite by setting up sterile drapes, solutions, and all necessary sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Intraoperative
• Support: Anticipate and efficiently hand requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon throughout the procedure.
• Patient
• Care
• Logistics: Assist in the safe preparation, transportation, positioning, and draping of patients to ensure comfort and safety.

• Controls: Maintain a meticulously organized instrument field and rigorously track item counts to prevent retained objects.

What minimum requirements you’ll need Licensure / Certification / Registration

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Per Tennessee Code (TCA) 68-57-101(a), non-certified applicants must have 18 months of surgical technologist experience in the 3 years preceding 5/21/07; or began the appropriate surgical technologist training prior to 5/21/07 and completed by 5/21/10.

Education

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
