The specialist addresses the emotional and mental health needs of HIV/AIDS patients to support behavior change and link them to community resources. They also facilitate educational and support groups to improve client coping skills and overall health knowledge.
A high school diploma is required, while a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Public Health is preferred. Two years of case management experience and bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish are also preferred.

A Psychosocial Support Services Specialist (PSSS) contributes to AHF by helping our patient population receiving HIV/AIDS medical care at our Healthcare Center (HHC) achieve their optimal self. The PSSS addresses the emotional and mental health needs of clients supporting them in their behavior change as well as linking them to community resources. The PSSS will offer educational and support groups to foster community amongst clients as well as increase client coping skills and overall health/treatment knowledge.
A PSSS enhances the reputation of AHF by empowering clients and working towards improving their mental health wellness.

AHF has a collaborative organizational structure where staff are accountable to multiple leaders.
The PSSS will work as a part of a close knit team to enhance the patient experience at the clinic.
High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, Psychology or Public Health, two years experience working in case management and bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
