$71 - $83 / HOUR
Responsible for the safe and timely dispensing of medications to patients upon hospital discharge and providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based medication recommendations and manages pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient workflow.
Requires a degree from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy and a valid Illinois pharmacist license. Board certification is required within 18 months of hire, with a preference for a PharmD and PGY-1 residency completion.
Join University of Chicago Medicine, as a Clinical Staff Pharmacist, in the Meds2Beds Pharmacy. In this role as a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist, you will assume responsibility and accountability for the provision of safe, effective, and timely dispensing medications to patients upon discharge of the hospital.
Eligible for a Sign-On Bonus up to $5,000
Responsible and accountable for the provision of safe and effective drug therapy and other pharmaceutical care services intended to achieve outcomes related to the cure, diagnosis or prevention of disease, elimination, or reduction of patient’s symptoms, or arresting or slowing of a disease process, and improve a patient’s quality of life in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team. The pharmacist also assumes the responsibility of pharmacy technicians that work directly under his/her supervision by ensuring the proper preparation of drug products and managing the workflow.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
