Operates ultrasound scanning equipment to produce records of human anatomy for adult and geriatric patients. Ensures accurate imaging of designated anatomical portions.
Requires certification or eligibility from ARDMS, ARRT(S), or CCI, and CPR certification. Preference is given to graduates of accredited Ultrasound Technology schools with specialized experience in Cardiology, Vascular, or OB/GYN.

REQUIRED Requirements for Ultrasound Technologists Initial Qualifications · Certified or eligible for certification by: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Sonography (ARRT) (S). OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) · All sonographers must obtain certification within twenty-four months of eligibility or cross training.) · Certified in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or obtain within 90 days of employment Continuing Education Sonographers must be in compliance with the ARDMS, ARDMS, ARRT or CCI requirements for continuing education appropriate to their practices PREFERRED Graduate from an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology For specialty areas: Cardiology: Registered Cardiovascular Technologist with two (2) years cardiac related experience Vascular: Registered Vascular Technologist with two (2) years vascular related experience OB/GYN: Registered OB/GYN Technologist with at least two (2) years of OB/GYN related experience
