• JOB TYPE Classification: Non Exempt Supervises Positions: JOB SUMMARY Provides patient care services, cleans, maintains and stocks supplies and equipment and applies the principles of standard precautions and infection control in a variety of settings.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate for the population assigned.
• Receives assignments as delegated by the RN.
• The Certified Technical Assistant will be able to access data reflective of the patient’s status and report the information needed to identify each patients needs relative to this information.
• Provides care based on established policies and procedures.
• The Technical Assistant performs clerical, phlebotomy, safety attendant and other duties as assigned within their scope.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience

1 year of experience preferred. Previous healthcare experience preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.

Licensure

• Current CNA, Phlebotomy, or CMA/CCMA/RMA certification with state required.

• Required: Basic computer knowledge with demonstrated administrative skills. Basic knowledge of medical terminology. Demonstrated critical thinking skills. High level of compassion, desire to help others and highly motivated.

• Care: Provides and documents assistance to patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. Assists/provides patient care throughout the entire patient experience under the direct supervision of the physician and/or the registered nurse. Assists in room turnaround, including appropriate cleaning of equipment, supplies, and environment. Organizes supplies and equipment as needed.
