Physical Therapy Assistant

At Paramount, the PTA will implement the treatment plan customized from the PT during evaluation and guide the patients through exercises and training.

Responsibilities

• Meets the patient’s goals and needs and provides quality care to each patient.
• Provides treatment to patients as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Records treatments given in patients record. Instructs families and staff in maintenance programs at discharge as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Communicate with the supervisor/Administrator and other interdisciplinary team members regarding the patient’s progress, problems and plans as indicated.
• Participates in patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings as indicated. Participates in facility in service training programs.
• Assists with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area and department.
• Maintains patient’s confidence and keeping information confidential as per HIPAA guidelines.
• Protects patient and associates by adhering to infection control policies and protocols. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with department procedures, rules and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

License/Certification

• Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (Required)
