Independently perform routine and complex CT examinations while adapting protocols based on patient condition and diagnostic needs. Responsibilities include preparing patients, administering contrast, and maintaining equipment and technical documentation in EMR/PACS.
Requires graduation from an accredited imaging, radiology, or nuclear medicine program and at least one year of CT experience. Must hold current ARRT(RT)(CT) certification and BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
CT Technologist - PRN - Edmond Department: Adult CT Scan
General Description: The CT Technologist PRN independently performs routine and complex CT examinations, applying established protocols while exercising sound clinical judgment to adapt techniques based on patient condition and diagnostic requirements. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Utilizes core knowledge and skills to function as a competent, independent technologist, performing a full range of CT exams and adjusting protocols based on patient condition and clinical indication to deliver safe, high‑quality, and efficient patient‑centered care in routine and emergent settings. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with physician‑ordered exams to support appropriate imaging. Safely administers contrast per protocol Demonstrates the ability to recognize basic imaging artifacts and implement corrective measures independently or under guidance. Effectively communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and the care team to support desired clinical outcomes and service standards. Accurately transfers images and associated data to designated systems, completes basic technical documentation, and prepares studies for physician reporting. Carries out operator‑level quality control checks, cleaning, high‑level disinfection, and basic equipment maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory requirements. Accurately document in EMR/PACS Actively participates in continuing education, professional development, and research initiatives to maintain competencies and advance quality of care and treatment practices. Supports inventory tasks as needed to help ensure supplies are available. General Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Graduate of an accredited imaging, radiology or nuclear medicine program as defined by ARRT or Completion of JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program is accepted in lieu of other educational requirements.
Solid knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, CT imaging principles, and radiologic terminology. Applies core‑level primary specialty theory and techniques to independently perform CT exams, complete post‑processing and image analysis, and accurately annotate study data and procedure documentation with minimal guidance. Ability to prioritize and independently complete clinical and non‑clinical work assignments with limited direction. Communicates effectively through verbal and written means to convey accurate, timely information and collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members. Ability to prioritize and independently complete clinical and non‑clinical work assignments with limited direction, applying sound judgment to manage workload, competing priorities, and changing demands. Ability to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations, independently adjusting priorities and maintaining focus in fast‑paced or changing environments. Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy Knowledge of and ability to apply HIPAA guidelines and standards. Ability to work as part of a diverse team and communicate effectively with others. Displays consistency and dependability by reporting to work as scheduled. Ability to be sensitive to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
