• Location: Riley Hospital

• This position performs basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies and may provide supervision of other staff.
• They prepare patient equipment for testing, interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain pre and post testing procedures.
• They perform and document testing per lab protocols.
• They will monitor patient throughout testing and intervenes as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues.
• They will assist with scoring sleep studies and generating reports.
• The role prepares, calibrates, repairs and maintains equipment required for testing.
• They determine and report needed repairs/replacements.
• They will maintain credentials as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BPRT).
• Certifications obtained through the American Board of Sleep Medicine will be honored through their certification date or until credentials through the BPRT are obtained.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED is required. Associate's degree is preferred.
• Requires 1-3 years of experience working with pediatric sleep studies.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist through the NBRC or Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist.
• Must obtain certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or certification as a Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) within 2 years of date of hire.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
