- Responsibilities include: Primarily operation focused centrally based; participates in direct patient care as clinical competencies are approved and on approved shifts.
- Documents the care provided to patients.
- Supervises the drug distribution operation: responsible for assuring safe and effective alternatives as appropriate.
- Contributes to the accomplishment of initiatives to improve the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy.
- Routinely communicates with physicians, nurses, and patients regarding drug therapy.
- Demonstrates ability to provide age-specific patient care as established for area and job title.
- Demonstrates ability to perform competencies and perform activities as outlined in the Pharmacist Authorities policy.
- Provides pharmaceutical care according to standards established by Scripps Health Pharmacy, to assigned group of patients.
- Reviews and evaluates individual drug orders for appropriateness, safety, and cost.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills
BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Degree
Required Certification/Registration
California Pharmacist License AHA BLS ACLS certification required prior to being trained to respond to codes, can be obtained within 6 months of hire
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification
PGY1 residency or 3 years' experience in relevant practice area.
