Provides direct spiritual care, assessments, and counseling to patients, loved ones, and staff under the supervision of a Clinical Pastoral Educator. Oversees interfaith rituals and services while maintaining accurate documentation in electronic medical records.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in religious or spiritual studies. Preference is given to candidates with one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and experience in a people-helping profession.

Licensure/Certification: N/A Experience: Preferred: Volunteer service in a people helping profession Reports To: Clinical Pastoral Educator / Director-Spiritual Care Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients: N/A Blood Borne Pathogens: Minimal / No Potential Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Ability to operate general office equipment (i.e., computer, printer, scanner, telephone, etc.), Ability to provide nonintrusive counseling to support emotional and spiritual wellbeing of patients, their loved ones, EH staff and volunteers, Excellent interpersonal skills, Organization skills, Possess a dynamic and conceptual knowledge of religious traditions, Skilled in supporting patients and families in end-of-life situations, Written and verbal communication skills Essential Responsibilities 1. Demonstrates compliance with all applicable policies and practices, Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. 2. Provides spiritual care services with an interdisciplinary approach, under the direct supervision of the CPE. 3. Maintains accurate records of spiritual services activities; documents visits and interventions appropriately, adhering to organizational standards; completes appropriate flowsheets and notes in the electronic medical chart (Epic) reporting on patient visits. 4. Assists patients and their loved ones in ethical decision making, under the direct supervision of the CPE. 5. Responds promptly to requests for spiritual care visits and ritual sacramental needs; keeps scheduled appointments with patients, under direct supervision of the CPE. 6. Maintains an ongoing, caring relationship with EH staff and volunteers. 7. Provides spiritual counseling to patients, their loved ones, EH staff and volunteers when requested or required, under direct supervision of the CPE. 8. Conducts appropriate services as requested; rituals, memorials and general blessings, under the direct supervision of the CPE. 9. Supports an interdisciplinary and interfaith approach to spiritual care. 10. Refers patients, their loved ones, EH staff and volunteers to appropriate professionals, such as behavioral health professionals, for services beyond the scope of chaplaincy practice, under direct supervision of the CPE. 11.
