The Ophthalmic Technician is responsible for conducting pre-exam tests, recording patient histories, and performing various diagnostic eye measurements. They also manage patient flow, provide telephone support for ocular emergencies, and maintain the cleanliness and integrity of exam rooms and equipment.
Candidates need an Associate Degree with 3 years of experience or a High School diploma with 4 years of experience in a bio-medical technician field. A Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification is preferred.
