Perform standard laboratory procedures, execute experimental protocols, and maintain lab equipment to support research on Multiple Sclerosis. Responsibilities include collecting data, preparing reagents, and ensuring compliance with safety and biohazard policies.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a science field and experience in a research laboratory. Preferred qualifications include experience with molecular biology techniques, flow cytometry, and handling pre-clinical models.
Assists with research studies experiments and assays including collection of data preparation of solutions and set-up and maintenance of equipment Performs data entry and maintains data files on research. Prepares tissue cultures reagents probe tests (etc.). Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions. Ensures lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures. Miscellaneous duties including but not limited to assisting with general lab maintenance and cleaning coordinating equipment repairs ordering and shipping. Performs other duties as assigned. Working Conditions: This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research pre-clinical models. Job Requirements Required Bachelors Degree in science field Experience in a research laboratory or equivalent Preferred Experience as an intern or student research technician Ability and willingness to handle pre-clinical models Experience with molecular biology techniques and flow cytometry Experience in mammalian cell culture and histology Excellent basic laboratory organizational and record keeping skills Ability to maintain complete and organized records/reports Familiarity with computer software (Excel PowerPoint Word Outlook). Ability to work independently and communicate with laboratory staff and investigators Performs laboratory administrative functions such as scheduling common equipment purchasing/maintaining contracts on equipment and procedures for record keeping system
