About the role

Perform vestibular testing for patients with balance and dizziness disorders under the direction of a supervising audiologist. Conduct data analysis and prepare detailed reports for the center manager and physician.

Schedule

  • Monday-
  • Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Position Summary

Trains/Performs, under the directon of supervising audiologist, vestibular testing of patients with balance and dizziness disorders. The position conducts data analyses of patients' responses to vestibular testing and provides the appropriate reports to the Dizziness & Balance Center Manager & Physician.

Responsibilities: · Assists patients and audiologist as needed

· Conducts Cerumen (earwax) removal and rotary chair and computerized dynamic posturography testing

· Creates the reports required for all testing

· Ensures the testing rooms and equipment and equipment are cleaned as required

· Prepares charts for patient visits

· Scans and attaches all Dizziness and Balance Center forms to chart

· Obtains research consents for Dizziness and Balance Center

· Attends all D&B center related meetings/seminars/presentations

· Troubleshoot technical problems with a variety of medical equipment

Qualifications

· No degree/certificate required (all training will be on site); Associate’s degree or minimum 2 years clinic experience preferred

· Strong planning, problem solving, organizational, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Working knowledge of general office equipment including fax and copy machines, multi-line phone system, and personal computer

· Ability to address and resolve conflict in a professional manner

· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality ex: HIPAA

· Ability to be adaptable in fast pace clinic

· High degree of verbal communication and interpersonal skills in interactions with others including a patient population with varying degrees of illness and health

Working Conditions: · Engages in periods of prolonged standing and walking

· Moderate physical effort, engaging in major physical activity involving lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling equipment and patients in excess of 100 pounds.

· Exposure to varied lighting conditions (exams room will be with little to no lighting)

· Eye and wrist straining related to repetitive movements

· Associated health risks related to patient exposure

· Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Compensation

  • Most candidates will start within the first quartile of the pay range
  • Rates are commensurate with experience

Requirements

No degree is required, though an associate's degree or two years of clinic experience is preferred. Candidates must be able to troubleshoot medical equipment and handle physical tasks including lifting up to 100 pounds.
