The Ophthalmic Assistant provides direct patient care within the Optometry or Ophthalmology departments. They are responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to professional standards.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and current BLS certification. Candidates need either 1+ years of experience or 6 months of experience combined with graduation from an approved Medical/Ophthalmic Assistant program.
High School Diploma or GED Current BLS through American Heart Association 1+ years of Medical Assistant or Optometric/Opthalmic Assistant experience if not a graduate of an approved Medical/Ophthalmic Assistant program OR 6 months experience and be a graduate of an approved Medical/Ophthalmic Assistant program CRT experience Proven ability to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population
Certified as Ophthalmic Assistant Certified Ophthalmic Technician 2+ years of work experience under an ophthalmologist 1+ years of experience in ophthalmology Proven ability to Scribe, use portable tonopen, Goldman VF, Fundus photography, Fluroscein Anniogram, Immersion IOL Proven ability to use NCT, Autorefractor, computer related equipment, Lensometer and able to perform K-readings Proven windows bases computer skills Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
