Assesses, diagnoses, and implements medical care for behavioral health patients in collaboration with physicians. Develops holistic interdisciplinary care plans incorporating psychological, sociocultural, and lifestyle factors.
Requires a Master's in Nursing and board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from the ANCC. Candidates should have 5 years of recent relevant experience and a valid California NP license.
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Master's: Nursing CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: NP-Nurse Practitioner (National certification and certification in California) Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner board-certified. PMHNP from ANCC BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 5 years of recent relevant experience. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regard to advanced nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology. Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations. Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people. Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record. Pay Range is $136,115.20 to $190,544.64 / annual salary. 32 Hour Pay Range is $108,892.16 to $152,435.71 / annual salary. The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
