The Pharmacy Intern performs technical and clerical duties for the hospital's unit-dose drug distribution and intravenous admixture programs. Responsibilities include preparing IV medications, filling patient cassette drawers, and delivering pharmaceutical supplies to nursing units.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy and registered as a Pharmacy Intern with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. A high school diploma is required, and up to one year of related experience is acceptable.

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, supervisor, or director of pharmacy services, the Pharmacy Intern performs a wide variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit-dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program.
include maintaining confidential reports, entering and retrieving data using the computer system, preparing intravenous medications (including chemotherapeutic preparations, hyperalimentations, and antibiotics), pre-filling patient cassette drawers with a 24-hour supply of unit dose medications, procuring and filling requests for pharmaceutical supplies, and delivering supplies to nursing units.
