The LPN participates in performance improvement, research activities and maintains clinical expertise Essential Functions:
Provide direct care for a population specific patient assignment reflective of current and status of patient.
Provide patient / family teaching and discharge instructions to meet learning/ discharge needs as identified by RN.
Set priorities, problem-solve, and use proper judgment in difficult situations and be flexible in non-emergent situations
Provide and maintain safe environment for patients/families through preventative and interventional measures
Document patient care per policies and procedures
Participate, promote, and practice continuous quality improvement. Collect and document of data relevant to planning / evaluation of patient care
Communicate effectively with patients/families and members of the health care team
Demonstrate medication administration as per MMC policy and procedure
Responsible and accountable for own practice
Demonstrate body mechanics as it relates to lifting / transfer / procedural assistance and knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patient population served
Use Blood pressure, temperature, breathalyzer, pulse oximeter equipment, electronic clinical information system, and perform phlebotomy
Responsible for maintenance of Customer Service
