About this role: Serve as the Behavioral health liaison embedded in ED to manage the BH pod and act as primary bridge between ED and South Campus BHU.
Conduct evidence-based health assessments for patients presenting in ED to POD.
Evaluate acuity, risk level, and clinical needs and determine appropriateness for admissions vs discharge to community.
Initiate/support involuntary commitment with IVC filing when indicated
Coordinate appropriate patient disposition as a direct admission to the BHU or facilitate discharge to community with an after-care plan with community resources.
Act as the conduct between ED staff and inpatient BH team. Communicate clinical updates and facilitate smooth handoff for accepted patients. Work to expedite ED throughput from ED to POD to South Campus.
Provide guidance on behavioral health protocol and best practices to ED staff and intake staff in ED. What we are looking for Current RN license in state of practice Bachelors degree preferred but not required
