The Medical Assistant provides superior patient care by performing clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and sterilizing instruments. They also handle administrative duties including EMR documentation, medical coding, and managing insurance authorizations.
A high school diploma or GED and basic EMR/Microsoft Office knowledge are required, with BLS certification needed shortly after hire. An associate degree, CMA/RMA certification, or two years of experience is preferred.
