Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Psychiatry

Description

This is a contract position that offers an on-site working mode, providing an essential opportunity to deliver mental health services in a supportive environment.

As a Locum Psychiatrist, you will play a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, and managing mental health conditions for our patients. You will work closely with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and contribute positively to the local community's mental health initiatives.

Responsibilities

Conduct assessments and evaluations of patients presenting with mental health concerns Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Provide psychotherapy and medication management as needed Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately Participate in case reviews and team meetings Stay current with best practices in psychiatry and mental health Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the practice

Requirements

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry Active medical license in the state of Massachusetts Strong clinical skills with a patient-centered approach Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment Strong organizational and time management skills Experience in psychiatric settings is preferred

Schedule: 8:30a-5p

No call requirement

Setting: 22-bed inpatient geripsych unit

Daily Volume: Up to 8 per day

Patient Population: Adult and Geriatrics

Average Length of Stay: 14-15 days

Support Staff: 3 psychiatrists

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
