• Occupational Summary Perform a variety of complex technical duties involved in conducting laboratory tests, experiments and determinations in support of Duke University research operations.

• Work Performed A Research Technician II position is available immediately in the Department of Ophthalmology at Duke Eye Center to study the role of autophagy in neurodegeneration in glaucoma.
• The selected candidate will conduct research experiments under minimal supervision and in accordance with established laboratory and safety protocols.
• Responsibilities will include preparing research-related documents, performing data analysis, maintaining standard laboratory equipment and supplies, assisting with the development of new research procedures and techniques, and supporting ongoing animal studies.
• Additional responsibilities include mouse genotyping, imaging, histological techniques, and other experimental approaches related to glaucoma and neurodegeneration research.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Work generally requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.
