Provide nursing care for diabetes and endocrinology patients through in-clinic care and back-office triage. Responsibilities include patient assessment, education, and coordinating with providers to ensure smooth clinic flow.
Requires a nursing degree from an accredited school and a valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio. BLS certification is mandatory, and three years of pediatric clinical experience is preferred.
Pay starts at $34.82/hr, Pay will commensurate with experience Diabetes focused Nurse in our Endocrinology Clinic. Cross trained in clinic to see both endocrinology and diabetes patients.
Monday-Friday, 8a-4:30p. No weekends. Must travel to Endocrinology- Worthington. The job consists of in-clinic patient care and back-office triage (Including but not limited to phone calls, mychart messages, forms, medication refills/concerns, labs, prior authorizations). The job duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on departmental needs and the implementation of new workflows and/or processes. The employee may be required to float to other clinics and will provide support at offsite Endocrinology clinics as needed, based on staffing requirements.
Summary: Emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention as they assist patients and families to move rapidly, uneventfully, safely, and as effectively as possible through their episode of care. Delegates, oversees and provides quality, safe and developmentally appropriate patient care.
Essential Functions: Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach. Assesses individualized patient needs and plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices. Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with regulatory and policy compliance. Works closely with providers and other team members to ensure a smooth clinic flow addressing patient/parent concerns and attaining positive patient and family outcomes. Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures. Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff. Education Requirement: Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school, required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred. Must successfully complete BSN within 5 years of start date. Licensure Requirement: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio, required.
