About the role

The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting and labeling specimens from patients of all ages while ensuring proper identification and order accuracy. They also manage laboratory workflow, perform equipment maintenance, and conduct quality control procedures.

Overview

Comments The Clinical Services Technician collects specimens on all age populations as assigned with minimal patient impact.

Responsible for verification of proper patient and specimen identification, appropriateness of specimen and accompanying orders.

Organizes laboratory workflow.

Utilizes requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems to test request, accession, correctly label and deliver specimens to appropriate laboratory sections within acceptable time frames.

Performs specified procedures within scope of established testing methods and responsibilities.

Performs and appropriately documents routine maintenance and quality control procedures on specified equipment and troubleshoots as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Licensure

Phlebotomy Preferred Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Graduate Phlebotomy Preferred Experience

1 Year Clinical - Phlebotomist Preferred

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a preference for graduates of phlebotomy programs and those holding phlebotomy licensure. Preferred experience includes one year of clinical phlebotomy work.
