The Respiratory Care Staff Technician provides routine respiratory care under clinical supervision. They are responsible for assessing patient health status and interpreting basic data to identify age-specific needs.
Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited respiratory care program and hold a Limited Permit from the State Medical Board of Ohio. BLS Certification in CPR through the American Heart Association is required.

The Respiratory Care Staff Technician (S.T.) is currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care educational program and functions in a limited capacity, exclusively within the realm of routine respiratory care. Practical knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the cardiopulmonary system is required to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients receiving respiratory care. The S.T. will function under the clinical supervision and guidance of the Manager or Charge Therapist.
The Respiratory Care Staff Technician must demonstrate beginning and intermediate knowledge of clinical application and theoretical respiratory principles consistent with the current literature and accepted practice of the respiratory care profession. The Respiratory Care Staff Technician must be able to assess and interpret basic data about the patient’s health status to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide care.
