Part time – 24 hours a week 6 am to 6: 30 pm Weekends and Holiday Rotations Supporting Evelyn’s House – Hospice Care

Overview

BJC Home Care offers patients and their families a complete range of home care services, including skilled nursing services, adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care, rehabilitation therapy, home infusion therapy, infusion treatment rooms, home medical equipment and high-tech respiratory care. Specialty home care programs also are available, including adult and pediatric asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic and wound care programs.

• Evelyn’s House is the newest addition to BJC Hospice and BJCs continuum of care for patients with life-limiting illness.
• Evelyn’s House staff are sensitive to the physical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual needs of terminally ill adult and pediatric patients and their families.
• We provide a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and volunteers, specially trained in pain and symptom management, counseling, and bereavement services for the dying.
• BJC Hospice services include alternative therapies such as music, art and massage therapy.
• BJC Hospice programs provide palliative care by helping patients manage their pain and symptoms while living their lives with daily peace and dignity.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose The Certified Nurse Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient/resident care and assistance in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations and nursing standards of care.

Responsibilities

Obtains vital signs and other measurements as directed and documents findings promptly. Meets patient hygiene, comfort, nutrition, and hydration needs and documents as required. Recognizes and reports abnormal findings or changes in patient status to the nurse throughout entire shift. Implements care under the supervision of the nurse.or Primary Case Manager. In Home Health, this can be done with a RN/PT/OT or Speech Pathologist. Minimum Requirements Education High School Diploma or GED Experience No Experience Supervisor Experience No Experience Licenses & Certifications Automobile Insurance Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified Nurse Assistant Valid Driver's License Preferred Requirements Experience <2 years
