Provides specialized urologic patient care and supports clinic workflows under physician direction. Responsibilities include rooming patients, assisting with urologic procedures like cystoscopies, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Requires completion of an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent experience, plus two years of Urology Technologist experience. Must hold a current BLS certification and be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
Completion of an accredited medical assistant program OR one year of medical assistant/nursing assistant work experience. Two (2) years of Urology Technologist experience.
A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. We are unable to provide work visa sponsorship or employment authorization for this position now or in the future.
Urology training; demonstrated competency in urologic procedures preferred. Experience with MS Office. Experience with EPIC. Experience with Kronos. Experience with HealthStream.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross healthcare provider-level CPR certification. Maintains all required licensure and certifications for the position. Must be able to work in-person. Must be able to travel to alternate locations as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong organizational and personal skills. Strong medical terminology knowledge and skills. Strong knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 procedures. Strong knowledge of value-based care and risk-based coding procedures in Primary Care. Strong knowledge of medication and injection procedures. Ability to safely administer a variety of treatments and medications as directed. Ability to use various types of equipment for examination and treatment procedures. Ability to accurately take and record vital signs. Ability to accurately reconcile patient medications.
