Assist cardiologists with consultations, diagnostics, and the management of hospitalized cardiac patients. Provide high-quality nursing care and educate clients on cardiac disease processes and treatment plans.
Must be a licensed Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT/LVT/CVT). Experience in cardiology or emergency medicine is strongly preferred.

What Makes This Role Different Non-corporate, veterinarian-led hospital — decisions are made locally, by clinicians who are in the building Highly collaborative environment — work directly with surgery, internal medicine, ER, radiology, and oncology Growth-focused culture — we actively invest in training, mentorship, and skill development Hands-on medicine — technicians are trusted and empowered to fully utilize their training Advanced case exposure — complex Cardiology cases with access to cutting-edge diagnostics and treatments Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Cardiology Case Management Assist the Cardiologist with appointments, consultations, echocardiograms, diagnostics, and hospitalized case management Monitor cardiac patients closely and communicate changes promptly to the medical team Provide high-quality nursing care, including medication administration, oxygen therapy, fluid management, and treatment monitoring Support patients through all stages of diagnosis, treatment, and long-term cardiac management Technical Skills Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, and laboratory testing Assist with advanced cardiology diagnostics, including echocardiograms, ECGs, blood pressure monitoring, holter monitors, thoracic radiographs, and imaging procedures Administer medications, CRIs, sedation, and anesthesia support for cardiac procedures when applicable Maintain accurate medical records and ensure treatment plans are carried out efficiently Client Communication Educate clients on cardiac disease processes, diagnostic recommendations, treatment plans, medications, and home monitoring Provide clear discharge instructions and follow-up guidance Support clients through complex cardiac diagnoses with professionalism, empathy, and effective communication Team Collaboration Work closely with the Cardiologist, ER, ICU, Surgery, Radiology, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and other specialty services to coordinate patient care Assist in maintaining efficient patient flow and case management throughout the hospital Participate in cross-training opportunities within ER/ICU to strengthen emergency and critical care skills Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented hospital culture Why Cerro Alto We’re building something intentional here - a hospital where people enjoy coming to work, where technicians are valued for their expertise, and where patient care benefits from true collaboration across services.

This is a full-time position primarily scheduled during daytime hours. Full-time team members typically work 10-hour shifts, 3–4 days per week. As a 24/7 specialty and emergency hospital, flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed is required.
