Grand Forks, North Dakota
Support providers by preparing patients for examinations, documenting medical encounters in the EMR, and assisting with dermatology procedures. Provide patient education and manage clinic administrative tasks such as handling specimens and returning phone calls.
Requires a high school diploma and previous experience in healthcare or a medical office. A Medical Assistant certification and specific experience in dermatology are preferred.
Required High school diploma or equivalent Previous healthcare, patient care, or medical office experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong computer and documentation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or equivalent) Previous Medical Assistant experience Dermatology experience Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) What You Will Do Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by obtaining medical histories and vital signs Accurately document provider encounters and procedures within the EMR Assist providers during medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology procedures Generate and submit orders as directed by providers Communicate pathology results and follow-up instructions to patients Answer and return patient phone calls in a timely manner Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure care Handle and label specimens according to established protocols Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic safety standards Travel periodically for training and support purposes as needed Perform other duties as assigned Skills & Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy preferred Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Professional demeanor and commitment to patient confidentiality Ability to adapt to changing priorities and clinic needs
