Nurse Practitioner A - TB Elimination (Health Services)

• Ability to collaborate, coordinate, lead others in improvement of health care, and exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally and tactfully with patients, families, coworkers, and community partners.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office or comparable county systems.

• Special Requirements
• Must possess a valid Tennessee driver's license or secure one as of employment date.
• Must have daily access to an operable automobile and meet County requirements for automobile insurance upon date of employment.
• Must be available to work some nights.
• Licensure or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in Tennessee. Licensure must be complete before the end of probation.
• Evidence of certification from ANA or a national certifying body within the first year of employment.
• Must be eligible for or have prescriptive authority from the Primary Care Advisory Board.
• Must maintain all required licenses, certifications, and training credentials throughout the duration of employment.

• Physical Requirements
• Must be able to work in and around several different settings, including jails, homeless shelters, nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, and any other settings required for screening and investigating TB disease.
• Work is performed in a fast-paced setting where there is an increased risk of exposure to disease in persons with infectious respiratory diseases. Special safety precautions are provided to reduce exposure.

All employees hired after September 1, 1986, must be residents of Shelby County and shall continue to reside in the County as a condition of their employment. The residency requirement shall not apply to certain public safety/civil service employees.
