Perform evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with hearing and balance dysfunction. Manage the programming and dispensing of hearing aids and provide counseling to patients and their families.
Requires a Doctoral degree in Audiology and current state licensure for audiology and hearing aid dispensing. Must hold a certificate of clinical competence from ASHA.

OSF Center for Health Rt 91 and INI (Illinois Neurological Institute) in Peoria, IL This audiologist will primarily see adult patients in the clinic for diagnostic hearing testing along with the programming and dispensing of hearing aids. Will also see pediatric patients.
Performs services including evaluation, diagnosing, treatment and management of patients with hearing and/or balance dysfunction referred by a medical doctor or self. In doing so, determines the most likely site of damage to the auditory/vestibular system and anticipates the degree of social disability resulting from damage/loss. Predicts potential benefits to patients for hearing aid use, along with cochlear implants and/or osseointegrated implant use. Counsels and educates patients and families in habilitative or rehabilitative practices, monitors patients' progress and maintains clinical records according to established procedures. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
