The fellow will lead a translational research project on chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy using breast cancer models and immune manipulations. Responsibilities include executing complex behavioral assays, performing molecular analysis, and disseminating findings through manuscripts and grants.
Requirements summary
A PhD or equivalent degree is required for this position. Candidates must possess advanced methodological expertise in immunology, neuroscience, and oncology research techniques.
Information: full-time Pay Range $30.70 - $46.05 This Postdoctoral Fellow position is essential for the successful execution of a highly technical, multi aim translational research project focused on uncovering immune mechanisms underlying chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) in the context of breast cancer treatment. The proposed research integrates complex orthotopic tumor models, immune specific genetic manipulations, advanced neurobehavioral phenotyping, and translational pharmacologic interventions, all of which require a dedicated, full time postdoctoral scientist with advanced methodological and analytical expertise. PhD or equivalent required. Scope of the Position and Key Functions The Postdoctoral Fellow will serve as the primary experimental lead and integrator across all three Specific
Aims of the project, with responsibilities including but not limited to: 1. Experimental Design and Execution
Lead and coordinate immunocompetent, orthotopic breast cancer resection models combined with adjuvant chemotherapy.
Perform immune specific genetic and pharmacologic manipulations targeting the IRE1α XBP1 pathway.
Conduct advanced flow cytometry, FACS sorting, molecular assays (qPCR, ELISA), histology, and confocal imaging. 2. Mechanistic and Translational Integration
Integrate tumor progression endpoints (recurrence, lung metastases, IVIS imaging) with neurotoxicity and immune outcomes.
Perform ex vivo co culture assays linking immune cell activation to neuronal injury and tumor aggressiveness.
Evaluate translational pharmacologic strategies (MKC 8866 ± paclitaxel) across multiple disease contexts. 3. Data Analysis, Interpretation, and Dissemination
Analyze high dimensional data across behavioral, molecular, immune, and oncologic endpoints.
