The RN provides specialized care for high-risk obstetric patients and laboring mothers across two units. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, coordinating treatment plans with interdisciplinary teams, and providing emotional support to families.
Graduation from an accredited registered nursing school and current licensure by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing are required. Experience or certification in the field is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
This unique opportunity will allow new RNs to work 50% of their time in our Obstetric High Risk Unit and 50% of their time in Labor & Delivery. Orientation will take place on both units and will be individualized according to the nurse’s experience.
Our Labor and Delivery Unit was designed exclusively for new moms and babies. Woman’s has delivered more than 320,000 babies since our inception in 1968, but we still treat every birth as unique and special. Our patient rooms, designed by nurses, offer a home-like setting along with the assurance of having the most advanced technology available. A typical obstetrical patient includes antepartum, observation, outpatient testing, circulating cesarean deliveries, triage and laboring patients who are minimal to high-risk.
Full-time nights: three 12-hour shifts per week 7pm to 7am
Scheduling after orientation will be every other week on the opposite unit
