The Activities Assistant plans and implements engaging group and individual activity programs to meet the physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of residents. They are also responsible for maintaining a safe activity environment and coordinating with the care team to update resident needs.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a preference for candidates experienced in skilled nursing facilities or dementia care. CPR certification is preferred.
$17.50–$18.00 per hour
The Activities Assistant supports the planning and implementation of engaging activity programs that meet the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs of our residents. This role helps create a positive, meaningful experience for residents through individualized and group activities. Key Responsibilities Implement individual and group activities based on residents’ functional levels, interests, and cultural or religious preferences Support residents’ daily routines, personal choices, and overall well-being Communicate resident needs, concerns, and updates to the Activity Director and care team Provide in-room activities for bed-bound or room-confined residents, including music, reading, and personalized projects Assist residents with participation in activities as needed Modify and adapt activities to meet varying cognitive and physical abilities Assist in developing, posting, and distributing monthly activity calendars Monitor the activity environment for safety and report hazards promptly Report housekeeping or maintenance concerns to appropriate staff Maintain activity supplies, equipment, and storage areas in a clean and organized manner Ensure activity areas remain safe, clean, and welcoming for residents Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Experience working with dementia patients preferred Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred Previous experience as an Activities Assistant or Activity Director is a plus CPR certification preferred Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Loma Linda Post Acute is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
