Overview The Student Medical Assistant participates in Riverside's Medical Assistant Earn and Learn Program, a structured, paid training program designed to develop the clinical, technical, and professional skills necessary for successful employment as a Certified Medical Assistant. Under the direct supervision of the RMG Clinical Education team, licensed medical professionals, and designated preceptor, the Student Medical Assistant supports patient care, clinic operations, and administrative functions while completing required coursework and clinical competencies.
This position is temporary and program-based. Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory performance, program compliance, and successful completion of all Earn and Learn requirements. Upon completion of program, students will be transferred into a Certified Medical Assistant job profile at a Riverside Medical Group Practice.
What you will do Participates in classroom instruction, simulation, and hands-on clinical training.
Completes all competencies, evaluations, and Earn and Learn Program requirements.
Performs basic clinical tasks under direct supervision by designated preceptor.
Performs laboratory procedures including specimen handling and point-of-care testing after completing associated clinical competency and didactic training.
Assists with administrative, front-end operations, and operational tasks as part of training.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education High School Diploma or GED, (Required)
Experience Less than 1 year Medical office and/or clinical experience (Preferred)
