The General Ophthalmologist will perform comprehensive eye examinations and manage various ocular conditions such as Dry Eye and Diabetic Eye Disease. They will collaborate with retina specialists and other providers to ensure continuity of care and practice growth.
Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree, complete an accredited Ophthalmology Residency, and be Board Certified or Eligible. An active New York State Medical License is required.
Perform comprehensive eye examinations for adult patients. Diagnose and manage common ophthalmic conditions, including: Dry Eye Disease Diabetic Eye Disease Age-Related Macular Degeneration Ocular Surface Disease Routine and urgent ophthalmic conditions Develop individualized treatment plans and educate patients regarding their eye health. Coordinate care with retina specialists, optometrists, primary care physicians, and referring providers. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record system. Participate in practice growth initiatives and community outreach efforts. Deliver exceptional patient-centered care while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence. Qualifications Required MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology Residency Program Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology Active New York State Medical License (or ability to obtain) Strong clinical and interpersonal skills Commitment to providing outstanding patient care Preferred Experience in a private practice or multispecialty ophthalmology setting Established referral relationships within the New York City area Interest in helping grow ophthalmology services within a rapidly expanding practice Why VRMNY?
