Assists nursing staff in providing patient care and preparing medical records. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment within the Med Surg Department.
Requires a high school diploma and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds. BCLS certification and prior experience in a medical setting are preferred.
Description Under the supervision of nursing staff members assists in providing nursing patient care, prepares records, and maintains a clean environment.
Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Personal Job-Related Skills: Ability to read and write, effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to comprehend and follow verbal or written instructions. Licensure, Registry or Certification: BCLS certification preferred. Prior Work Experience: One year experience in a medical setting preferred. Technical Training: Nursing Assistant course desirable or documented prior experience. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require extended periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting when moving or supporting patients who may suddenlybecome weak or helpless.
