Experience / Qualifications

Current LPN licensure in the state of Florida

BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Health Care Providers.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent verbal and written skills.

Position Summary

The LPN provides direct patient care and assists with daily clinical operations.

Delivers patient care as identified by the pulmonary practice.

Effective communication demonstrates Caring, Compassion, and Cultural awareness.

Provide quality care using the LPN process and critical thinking skills.

Able to function under stress and emergency situations.

Promotes effective communications between patients, staff, physicians and visitors.

Provides knowledge of acute and chronic pulmonary illnesses.

Performs mask fittings for CPAP devices and other machines to treat sleep apnea.

Patient education - teach patients how to use inhalers, administer self-injections, and use CPAP machines and other devices to manage sleep apnea.

Complete drug authorization.

Follow proper workflows and documentation requirements using the epic medical record system.

Proficient in administering injectable medications.

The pulmonary LPN performs duties such as, but not limited to taking vital signs, entering, and updating patient’s medical history, and completing medication reconciliation.

Accurately and efficiently performs specimen collections and testing as defined by laboratory policy and procedure manuals.

Assesses environment to assure patient safety and determines appropriate equipment to use that meet the patient's needs.

This position will cross train to support clerical responsibilities

Answers phones and faxes reports. Maintains a clean environment.

Ensures adequate supplies and is knowledgeable in operation of equipment. Ensures current credentials and /or certifications. Maintains compliance with clinic procedural standards.

Supports and promotes JMC mission, vision, and values. Personally, contributes to the team environment by demonstrating cooperative, constructive, problem-solving interaction with JMC policies.

Performs other departmental duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

This job can be physically demanding at times requiring stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time. The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs.

  • Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
