The Clinical Nurse provides patient care support across all ages, assisting with exams, treatments, and patient education in a primary care setting. Key duties include rooming patients, recording vital signs, and administering medications per licensure.
Candidates must hold a valid and current licensure or certification in Iowa as an RN, LPN, or CMA. Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting and familiarity with EPIC are preferred.
Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures Room payients, record patient histories, vital signs, and document in the electronic health record (EHR) Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per scope of licensure Educate patients on health, medications, and follow-up care Coordinate referrals and patient care follow-ups Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment
Valid and current licensure/certification in the state of Iowa as one of the following: Registered Nurse (RN) – Iowa Board of Nursing Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Iowa Board of Nursing Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – accredited program with certification (AAMA, NCCT, AMT, NHA, NCMA, NAHP, AAH, ARMA or NHCA) Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred Familiarity with EPIC a plus! For positions within UnityPoint Clinic, team members may be required to work at or to float to other locations to support optimized staffing
