- Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Part Time Pharmacy Tech.
- Pharmacy technicians under the supervision of licensed pharmacist, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department not requiring the professional judgment of the pharmacist.
- Pharmacy technicians will function in strict accordance with standard, written procedures and guidelines.
- The major job responsibilities of this position are: Batch preparations; New dose preparation; Stock preparations; Pyxis functions; Maintenance of assigned areas; Liaison activities; Medication distribution process; and Departmental service requirements.
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent. Obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 15 months of hire.
Licensure
- The WV Pharmacy Technician or WV Pharmacy Technician in Training is required before hiring and training begins.
- For a WV Technician in Training licensee, a test date for national certification (e.g.
- PTCB, etc.) must be scheduled within six (6) months of hire for within seven (7) months of hire if national certification not possessed at hire.
- Any necessary subsequent scheduling of the national certification exam must be rescheduled within 90 days of the previous exam.
- All WV Technician in Training licensees must have successfully passed the national certification, cleared the background check and completed 960 hours of on-the-job, competency-based education and training to become licensed as a WV Pharmacy Technician within 15 months of hire.
Experience
Satisfactory completion of the on-the-job pharmacy technician training program.
Skills
Typing proficiency of 30 w.p.m.; basic computer skills; good math skills; above normal motivation; demonstrated ability to assume responsibility; good moral character and integrity; ability to communicate with and present a pleasing personality to the public and the institutional staff; ability to acquire the appropriate knowledge and skills required.
