Perform high-quality digital and analog mammograms and breast localization procedures under the direction of the Director of Diagnostic Imaging. Provide direct patient care and maintain the efficient operation of the Imaging Department while performing general radiologic technologist duties.
Requires an Associate degree or higher and ARRT registration in Mammography, along with MQSA, State of Texas, and CPR certifications. Preference is given to candidates with one to two years of mammography experience.
Education: The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Mammography modality with Associates Degree or higher. Personal Job-Related Skills: Ability to lift and position patients, to be discreet/tactful, maintain effective working relationships and follow oral and written instructions. Licensure, Registry or Certification: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology a current certification with MQSA and State of Texas and a current CPR certification. Prior Work Experience: One to two years mammography experience and certification preferred. Completion of required mammographic procedures as required by MQSA or State of Texas. Physical and Mental Requirement: Majority of time spent on feet positioning patients. Mammography Technologist must be able to adjust routine to accommodate patient or department without affecting departmental flow. Position requires ability to frequently lift heavy objects, perform moderately difficult manipulative skill and hand-eye coordination skills; walk and stand for prolonged periods; see objects closely; and hear normal sounds with some background noises. Must be flexible to work overtime as needed as well as on-call duty. Also, must be flexible and willing to cross-train in other modalities as needed. Position requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and to attend to tasks for 45-60 minutes at a time. Individual must be able to understand and relate specific ideas, generally several at a time, to remember tasks given at the beginning of a period extending several days, and able to communicate verbally using advanced medical technology vocabulary.
