The LPN is responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process, including gathering patient data, identifying nursing problems, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. The role also involves supporting the organization's mission and applying knowledge of patients' diverse needs.
Candidates must graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing and hold current Arkansas licensure as an LPN. An individualized orientation period of 2 weeks to 3 months is provided, and candidates should demonstrate competency in nursing skills.

Under the direct supervision and delegation of the RN, the LPN is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of gathering patient data for assessment, identification of nursing problems, implementation and evaluation. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Serves as a resource nurse when oriented and so directed. Supports the organization’s mission, vision and values. Applies knowledge of patient’s age and cultural diversity, along with their spiritual and emotional needs into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
Maintains good physical and emotional well being. Job responsibilities require a considerable amount of physical work. The individual will be required to assist with lifting and moving patients, pushing of carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment; and lifting or pushing of up to 50 pounds. The individual must be able to bend over to perform certain duties, e.g., check chest tube drainage, check urinary output, etc. The individual must also be able to maneuver throughout the halls, stairways and patient rooms in response to hospital emergencies. Interpretation of environmental input requires visual and auditory skills. A significant amount of writing and computer entry is required. Trips to various departments will be required. The position does have some heavy exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents. Exposure to infectious wastes and body fluids may mandate the wearing of gloves, masks, gowns goggles.
