The Phlebotomist/Processor collects, transports, and processes laboratory specimens. Responsibilities include performing venipuncture, accurately labeling specimens, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with some experience or training in phlebotomy or laboratory science preferred. Candidates must be able to walk 5-7 miles daily and stand for the entire shift.
Located at Upper Valley Medical Center (Troy, OH) Part Time - evening shift - 10am to 6:30pm - with every other weekend/holiday rotation Part Time - night shift - 10pm to 6:30am - with every other weekend/holiday roatation
The Phlebotomists/Processor collects, transports, and processes laboratory specimens.
Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures according to departmental procedures. Accurately label and prepare specimens for testing or transport. Complete requisitions and manage specimen receipt using computer systems. Deliver specimens to testing areas. Maintain equipment and assist with problem-solving related to patient draws and orders. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and departmental policies. Conduct inventory checks, train new employees, and maintain a safe work environment.
High School Graduate or equivalent Some experience or training in phlebotomy or laboratory science is preferred Safety & Physical Demands: Ability to walk 5-7 miles daily and stand for entire shift. Exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals. Adherence to safety, ergonomic, and health policies. Compliance with PPE requirements in lab or biohazard areas. Completion of required safety training and health evaluations promptly. Proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety hazards, promoting safety awareness.
