The Emergency Room Technician supports registered nursing staff by providing high-quality patient care and assisting with clinical tasks. Key duties include transporting patients, performing EKG and POC testing, and maintaining a clean environment in the emergency department.
Candidates must be a high school graduate with a certification as a CNA, MA, EMT-B, or EMT-P, including phlebotomy or EKG experience. A current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required.
The Emergency Room Technician assists and augments the registered nursing staff in providing high quality patient care in the Mitchell and Comer emergency rooms. The ERT must demonstrate the expertise and competency of all required skills in accordance with Illinois State law.

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
