Physician Assistant
Job Summary
The Physician Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive, patient-centered medical care in an outpatient clinic serving uninsured and underserved populations. The PA practices medicine under the supervision of a licensed Arizona physician within a team-based care model and in accordance with Arizona statutes, administrative rules, and clinic policies. The PA delivers high-quality care while supporting clinic quality standards, patient safety, and regulatory compliance. This position may require travel between clinic locations to support operational and patient care needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up under physician supervision and delegated authority
Perform medical histories and physical examinations and develop evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician
Order, interpret, and manage laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies as delegated
Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with Arizona law, physician delegation agreements, and clinic policy
Provide preventive care, chronic disease management, and patient education
Coordinate referrals and collaborate with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary care team members
Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record (Athena-aligned)
Complete medication reconciliation, problem list updates, and health maintenance activities
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, chart reviews, and patient safety activities
Adhere to all supervision, consultation, and documentation requirements established by Arizona law and clinic protocols
Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Ability to practice within a physician-supervised and delegated care model
