Summary Produces images of diagnostic quality within various locations of the hospital based on patient status and location at the time of the order; to include but not limited to: the emergency room, acute inpatient rooms and the radiology department.
Provides diagnostic quality radiologic imaging under the direction of a Physician while maintaining proper radiation protection standards.
Follows the guidelines for radiation safety while imaging gently.
Delivers a high level of patient care and customer service to promote patient satisfaction.
Performs radiologic exams with designated OR equipment of designated anatomy to physician specifications within the operating room.
Adheres to necessary safety precautions and sterile techniques.
Job Duties Able to move imaging equipment safely in the OR room setting.
Turn equipment on and adjust quality of image to perform exams.
This includes portables, hybrid room, C-Arms and O-arms.
Ensures prompt submission of images and documents before sending to PACS.
Uses appropriate exposure factors, collimation, lead shielding, and proper distance.
Documents LMP, fluoro time, mGy and room time.
Ensures appropriate exams are ordered and attached to the correct patient within 30 minutes after procedure.
Performs radiologic images in accordance with the department standards or as requested by surgeon.
Anatomy when required, is labeled corrected.
Prepares injector, provides contrast verifies proper injector settings, under the supervision of the Surgeon.
Ensures coordination of daily work duties within the team; coordinates timing of exams within department guidelines.
Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
Minimum Qualifications
Technical School Diploma graduate of accredited Radiography program or equivalent Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to build comprehensive reports and effectively convey information to others. Knowledge of medical technology and terminology. Skill in collecting and analyzing complex data.
